The Mission and Goals of the Be Aware Foundation are accomplished through community education. We reach out to the community through corporate worksites, organizations, churches, shelters, schools, and other public and private resources.
The Be Aware Program includes a one hour presentation delivered by a registered nurse and a breast cancer survivor. Our volunteer team presents a power point lecture and video followed by a Q&A session to address early detection concerns. The program focuses on the guidelines for Early Detection which are explained in detail along with practical suggestions to help women feel confident that they can successfully follow the guidelines.
A popular format in the business community is to offer the Be Aware program in a "Lunch and Learn" setting. Employees relax and enjoy lunch while the program is presented, and as the program becomes interactive, the employees finish lunch and can participate in the discussion. A program can be modified to fit the particular needs of a business or organization depending on the audience or time allowance.
